◎本學科學習目標: Is it possible that young people can incorporate the professional knowledge/skills they acquire at college with their hobbies, creativity and power of storytelling (narrative) to start their own business, or to promote their proposals, or even to have slash jobs? This project-oriented course aims to train students to apply what they have learned from literature/culture/music/art related courses and to create narrative/script for any industry—including food, staples, creative souvenirs, films, advertisement (commercial included), animated movies, cartoon, story-telling (picture books included), tourism, publishing, book promotion, etc. No textbook is chosen for the class, but the instructor will provide samples which demonstrate how literary works--both English and Chinese—and personal hobbies are appropriated with innovative ideas for (re)creation and become hits in cultural creativity industry. Students have to propose their projects either by individuals or teams and work out with "products" by the end of the semester. Besides, students need to create English (or bilingual) narrative (i.e., story) for promoting their “products.” Regular meetings will be set for individuals/groups to discuss their proposals/ideas with the instructor. Presentations of their creative products will be made in the last week for final elevation. Non-English majors are also welcome to organize interdisciplinary teams for their creative works/products. |
