◎本學科內容概述: 本學科為延續「英國文學I」的課程,旨在帶領學生對英國文學從18世紀到19世紀的重要作家及其作品有一個通盤的認識。本課程的內容,涵蓋不同時期重要作家最具代表性的詩歌、散文、小說或戲劇。學習的方式,以研讀文本為主,觀賞視覺媒體藝術為輔,協助學生瞭解到英國不同時期的文學、文化、歷史、哲學、宗教與政治的現象,進而加深、加廣對英國文化的認知與視野,並且提升自身的英語能力。 |

◎本學科學習目標: This course surveys British Literature along chronological lines and continues with the long eighteenth century (1660-1780). Romantic period (1780s-1830s), Victorian era (1837-1901), and Modernism will be the main themes in the course. Students are expected to
• To demonstrate awareness of the scope and variety of works in the arts and humanities.
• To understand those works as expressions of individual and human values within an historical and social context.
• To respond critically to works in the arts and humanities.
• To articulate an informed personal reaction to works in the arts and humanities.
