◎本學科內容概述:
本學科為大學部課程。本學科介紹語音的特色(專注於美語語音)以及培訓學生的語音教學能力和技巧。本學科探討的範圍包括英語的母音特色、子音特色、音節結構、音節重音、語音節奏、音調的抑揚頓挫和語音的變音現象。本學科引導學生發展出對這些語音特質的敏銳度和知識,並同時教授語音的教學技巧。

◎本學科學習目標:
This course is designed for university students who aspire to enhance their skills in teaching English pronunciation. It aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the importance of pronunciation in effective communication, while equipping students with various teaching methodologies and practical techniques. Through a blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on activities, students will explore the intricacies of English sounds, the anatomy of speech, and the application of different teaching methods in real-world contexts.

By the end of this course, students are expected to
1. Identify and describe various teaching methods for English pronunciation, including the Phonetic Approach, Communicative Language Teaching, and the use of Minimal Pairs.
2. Demonstrate improved pronunciation through practical exercises and regular practice.
3. Create detailed lesson plans that incorporate effective pronunciation teaching methods tailored to diverse learning environments.
4. Develop their own innovative teaching methods to effectively teach pronunciation in classrooms.

◎課程要求:
1. Class etiquette: You are expected to attend classes every week. If you must be absent from class, you take responsibility for the absence. Notify us in advance through the university official leave system. You will not pass the course once you miss the class with no excuses over four times.
2. Active participation: Exercises will be assigned, and in-class discussions will be invited from time to time. You are encouraged to join and give feedback on the assigned tasks.
