本學科旨在增進學生對如何使用英文繪本於國小英語教學。內容含括使用英文繪本在英語教學之相關理論、如何選擇合適英語教學之繪本、說故事技巧、教案撰寫、教學活動設計、如何教導兒童說及創作故事,以及在真實場域運用繪本教導國小學童。

◎本學科學習目標:
***Important: Please attend the very first class to learn about the course and requirements, which may affect your final decision to take this course or not. This is particularly important since we will participate in an MOE sponsored project, which has special requirements for us to hold a story activity at an elementary school. I'll need to talk to those who cannot make it to the first class.
***Below is a tentative schedule. Last-minute modification is possible. So, it's very important to attend the first class.
***This course is designed to explore how picture books can be used to teach English to elementary students. Students will learn important issues, including why use picture books to teach elementary EFL students, book selection, how to present a story, and activity design. Students will prepare and carry out an 80-minute story time incorporating what have been learned in this course regarding using picture books with elementary students.
