◎系所教育目標：
本系以經濟動物及伴侶動物並重，從基礎獸醫學、副臨床獸醫學、臨床獸醫學課程、動物疾病診斷以及醫院診療技術均予以完整訓練，以加強培育各動物類別之疾病診斷人才及臨床獸醫師。
教育目標如下：
1.培育各動物類別之臨床獸醫師。
2.培育獸醫學專業知識以及各動物類別診療技術人才。
3.培育獸醫人員基本研究素養。
4.培育具備防疫檢疫、動物疾病診斷及獸醫檢測技術能力，造福社會產業之人才。 |

◎本學科內容概述：
（一）幫助獸醫學系學生對獸醫流行病學充分瞭解與認識，以備目前或未來獸醫專業領域所必需。
（二）教授獸醫流行病學原理，各種調查研究方法之認識與應用，流行病之監視與監控。
（三）使獸醫學系學生有充分獸醫流行病學學識技術以資：維護和改善農場動物健康福祉；對家畜傳染病之控制或及預防有所貢獻。
（四）採用雙向互動教學討論法。第一階段由授課教師介紹獸醫流行病學領域，並解答學生之疑惑。第二階段由老師指定或學生各自收集相關主題文獻整理報告或實務參訪學習，並由相關授課教師給予建議與修正，以期獲得良好學習效果。 |
