◎本學科內容概述: 本課程將介紹語境中語言使用理論。主題將包括:代詞,參考和推論,預設和蘊涵,合作與暗示,言語行為和事件,禮貌與互動,對話和偏好結構,話語和文化以及比喻性語言(幽默,諷刺,隱喻等)。上課方式為:第一個小時是課堂內容演講,第二個小時是小組討論時間。此外,學生這學期期末需進行一個與語用學相關議題之期末專題研究,期末需進行口頭發表並繳交書面報告。 |

◎本學科學習目標: This course will introduce the study of language in context. At the beginning of the course, we will lecture language corpora, which can allow one to observe linguistic features in small talk or conversation in English. In addition, the skills of researching pragmatics will be introduced. The topics will be included: deixis, politeness in context, speech acts in context, figurative language (humor, irony, metaphors, etc.).
In addition to class lectures, students must conduct one project in order to collect data relating to pragmatics and learn how to analyze the data. Students will be instructed to present their project at the end of the semester.
Students should learn about:
1. Understand basic concepts in pragmatics
2. Understand the method of doing pragmatic research
3. Complete a pragmatics-related project via conducting an experiment |
