備 註1. Tentative syllabus. The insturctor may adust the syllabus on account of the student body and students' English proficiency.
2. Students are allowed to choose term paper instead of midterm and final exam. Weighs are 30% and 70% respectively for presentation and written paper.

除了種族、性別、與階級,族裔在文化分析、文學生產和身分認同等方面漸成重要議題。 本課程希冀透過導讀族裔文學培養並深化學生的(跨)文化涵養與能力,同時增進學生國際移動能力。

◎本學科學習目標:
In addition to race, gender and class, ethnicity has become an important issue in cultural studies, literary production and identity construction. Guided reading of selected works by writers of various ethnic groups of North American writers, will help students cultivate higher cultural literacy and understand the link between diaspora experiences and identity construction.

◎課程要求:
1. Whole English.
2. Two 5-minute English presentations.
2. Students' active participation in class discussion.
◎成績考核
期末考40%
口頭報告60%

補充說明:Sit-in final exams are optional. Students are allowed to choose to write 10-page-long term paper or reflections related to the stories on the syllabus. Term paper (90%) & participation (10%) weigh 100% for evaluation.
