◎本學科內容概述: 本學科旨在連結文學與電影,讓文學不只停留在文字呈現,讓電影的意象,融入文學想像。課中探討文學作品中的電影要素,也討論電影中的文學性主題。文學中本來多有意象,文字的靜態呈現也只是一面,讀者或可從電影的表現手法,了解當代文學最佳的呈現方式。未來能以影音意象,表現文學中的情愫。 |
◎本學科教學內容大綱: 「文學中的電影意象」與「電影中的文學性」是本課程的兩大重點。堂上會以文學改編的電影欣賞開始,討論的作品有「傲慢與偏見」,「清秀佳人」,「動物農莊」,「小王子」,「簡愛」等等作品。學期末會由實務切入,期待學生能以電影手法,影音呈現所熟知的文學作品。 |

◎課程要求: 1. Discussion is as well expected and encouraged, for a course full of lectures would damp not only the students' interests in literature but the teacher's enthusiasm in having a dialogical relationship with you guys.
Reading shall be accompanied with the movies as will be presented in class. Before watching the movie, students should be familiar with plot of the story.
2. Attendance is the base of your class performance/ quizzes, without which students will lose more than 35% (10% from discussion plus 25% from quizzes) of your final score. Three absences from class, with no satisfying cause, will mean the final failure in this course.
3. The whole class will be divided into groups of 5-6 for class activities-for example, movie-making at the end of the semester.
4. The final will be the time to show your film from the literary experience you have had in the semester.
5. Each of you is REQUIRED to take a workshop (影音製作工作坊) around midrerm week, to get yourselves prepared for making a movie of your own. |
◎成績考核 課堂參與討論15% : Discussion 小考25% : videos and materials given on E-learning platform to be watched/ read so as to get prepared for the upcoming quiz each week 期中考25% : written exam 期末考25% : final performances and/ or your films 操作/實作10% 補充說明:1. The course will start with watching the selected films in order to see the literary elements in them. After each movie, students will be asked to fully discuss the contents of the film so as to get the deeper understanding of the themes and topics in it.
2. In the second half of the semester, we will work in groups to reach the final goal of making a film as the end of the semester. Some literary works, or whatever students have learned, can be included in this section as long as they are able to make the texts into images and films. Your "self-made story" will be created first as texts (screenplays), then as images to be shown onto the screen. The skills of making a movie, using cameras, film-making apps like PowerDVD, subtitling etc. will be introduced in class. |
