◎本學科內容概述: 此一科目的主要目的在於向大學部學生介紹語音學相關的基本知識和概念,使其能夠實際應用於生活之中。授課內容將從音段的描述開始,依序探討語音的物理屬性、音韻學和語音表徵、國際音標的來源和設計、英語的輔音、英語的元音、詞彙與句子的組成音段、氣流機制與成音類型、輔音的發音動作、聲學語音學、元音與類元音發音、音節與超音段成份等。除了理論的講述和探究之外,本科目也重視學生能夠利用上述各項基本知識和概念,以增益自己的語言學習和發音技能。 |
◎本學科教學內容大綱: 1.介紹學生如何描述音段、分辨元音、輔音發音動作的差別及不同氣流如何影響音段的音質,並建立他們對於自然音類的認知,嘗試使用較常見的國際音標符號等。
2.探討語音的物理屬性和聲道中各發音器官的協調、運作情況。
3.簡介語音學的三個分支,包括發音語音學、聲學語音學、聽覺語音學,以供學生了解。
4.描述音韻學和語音學的差異為何,分辨元音和輔音在語音系統中所扮演的角色。
5.教導學生語音性質的分類,使其明瞭元音和輔音在發音動作上的區別。
6.剖析不同的氣流機制如何影響成音的類型及音段的音質。
7.運用聲學語音學的基本知識來檢視各類語音的特殊物理屬性,訓練學生聽覺上的敏感性。
8.分析超音段成份如音高、重音、聲調、語調、韻律等在不同語言的音節裡所具備的功能。 |
◎本學科學習目標: The course provides a basic introduction to the study of speech sounds, known as phonetics. Its main objective is to enhance students' understanding of English sounds and their ability to transcribe them accurately. Another goal of this course is to explore different speech characteristics across diverse languages. The topics covered include articulatory phonetics, acoustic phonetics, and the necessary terminology and symbols for speech description. |

◎課程要求: 1. Class etiquette: You are expected to attend classes on time. If you must be absent from class, you take responsibility for the absence. Notify us in advance through the university official leave system. You will not pass the course once you miss the class with no excuses over four times.
2. Collaboration and academic integrity: There are some homework assignments in our class. You are permitted to work with other students, but you must write up the draft on your own. Plagiarism is a serious academic misconduct. Late homework is not accepted either except for compelling reasons and with prior permission of the instructor. You will get “0” for both of the cases. |
