◎本學科學習目標: This course is designed to equip students who might teach a second language to others with basic understanding of bilingualism. In this course, we will introduce definitions of bilingualism, historical aspects of bilingualism, and different models of bilingual programs.
Upon completing the course you will be able to:
understand the basic principles of bilingualism, including terminology and various views of bilingualism
promote an understanding of the theories underlying the concept of bilingualism and curriculum
identify different models of bilingual education and evaluate the effectiveness in relation to English teaching environment in Taiwan
discuss productively in discussions involving issues of design and implementation of bilingual education |
