◎本學科內容概述: 本學科為大學部的課程,旨在訓練學生鑑賞、分析西方文學作品的基本技巧,並且認識西方文學的重要名詞。本課程的內容,涵蓋四大文類─詩歌、散文、小說、戲劇。然而,基於此學科入門性質的考量,所選用的文本側重在篇幅較為簡短、文字較為淺顯的作品。每項作品於課堂中加以詳細閱讀、分析與討論,學生藉此課程的學習,得以汲取閱讀西方文學作品的基本知識和分析技巧,並且進而培養獨立思考與批判的能力。 |

◎本學科學習目標: Students are expected to acquire skills to read "between the lines" of a literary text, by paying as much attention to the unsaid as the said, so as to develop a literacy in literary reading that highlights form and structure as the very content of literary texts. This semester focuses on fiction and poetry; non-fiction prose (or essay) and drama will be the main subjects of the next semester. |
