◎系所教育目標：
本系以經濟動物及伴侶動物並重，從基礎獸醫學、副臨床獸醫學、臨床獸醫學課程、動物疾病診斷以及醫院診療技術均予以完整訓練，以加強培育各動物類別之疾病診斷人才及臨床獸醫師。
教育目標如下：
1.培育各動物類別之臨床獸醫師。
2.培育獸醫學專業知識以及各動物類別診療技術人才。
3.培育獸醫人員基本研究素養。

◎本學科內容概述：
認識與瞭解犬動物醫學之基本內容，尤其可改善犬運動耐力與表現，並對骨骼肌肉系統衍生傷害之相關治療與復健帶來正面幫助，協助神經學、骨科與復健診療實習之診斷與治療並增進犬隻與人類之互動與良好關係。 |

一、犬競賽與常見運動項目之介紹與認識
二、不同品種與體型犬隻隻於競賽時優劣與影響之因子分析
三、犬隻骨骼肌肉系統之構造與運動醫學之關係
四、評估犬隻運動表現方法
五、犬隻與其他動物步態認識與分析，並與復健醫學連結應用
