◎系所教育目標：
本系以經濟動物及伴侶動物並重，從基礎獸醫學、副臨床獸醫學、臨床獸醫學課程、動物疾病診斷以及醫院診療技術均予以完整訓練，以加強培育各動物類別之疾病診斷人才及臨床獸醫師。

◎本學科內容概述：
本課程介紹及訓練由罹病動物身上採取血、尿、糞及其他檢驗材料，於實驗室施行物理學、化學及微生物學以及免疫學等各種檢查，以其結果為客觀資料，作為診斷病名、判定治療之良否及推測預後的依據。 |

1.介紹獸醫實驗診斷學之重要性、用途及影響實驗室診斷之因素。
2.說明檢體之採集、包裝、防腐及輸送。
3.評估紅血球系之方法。
4.貧血與多血症的實驗室診斷及分類。
5.評估白血球系之方法。
6.白血球異常的實驗室診斷。
7.凝血和血小異常的實驗室診斷。
8.造血器官腫瘤之種類、特徵及實驗室診斷。
